Hi there!

I’m Ashley, the founder of Barrett Wellness Center. If you’re here, chances are you’re tired of feeling like your body is working against you. Maybe you’re struggling with weight gain, bloating that just won’t quit, energy crashes that leave you feeling wiped out, or those frustrating hormonal symptoms that doctors keep brushing off like they’re no big deal. Trust me, I get it. I’ve been there, and I’m here to tell you there is a way out!

Ever since I can remember, I’ve wanted to be a doctor, just like my grandfather. I earned my biomedical sciences degree from Arizona State University, fully planning to follow in his footsteps and go to medical school. For years, I was laser-focused on that dream. Becoming a doctor was it. That was the path I was going to take, no question. I was so focused on that goal that I didn’t stop to ask myself whether it was the right one for me.

Then, in 2021, everything changed. While I was deep in the process of medical school applications, life threw me a curveball. I began dealing with digestive issues that came out of nowhere - bloating, fatigue, acne, and none of the doctors I saw could help. My labs were “normal,” my symptoms were dismissed, and I felt like I was losing myself in the process.

It forced me to pause and ask the question I had avoided for years: Is this really the path I want? The more I thought about it, the more I realized that writing prescriptions and rushing through 15-minute appointments wasn’t aligned with how I wanted to support people.

 

Let me be clear: I deeply respect Western medicine. It’s saved lives, changed the world, and will always be an essential part of healthcare. But for me, and the kind of care I felt called to provide, it wasn’t the right fit. I wasn’t interested in masking symptoms. I wanted to help people actually heal.

 

So I walked away, from the career I’d spent years chasing, and moved to California to figure out what was next. That’s when I discovered holistic nutrition and functional wellness. And suddenly… it all made sense!!

I realized my symptoms weren’t random, they were signals. My body wasn’t broken. It was asking for support. That shift changed everything for me. I finally felt like my body and I were on the same team again. That moment of clarity led me to become a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP), and I’ve been helping others reconnect with their health ever since.

At Barrett Wellness Center, I’m here to guide you back to balance, not perfection. No restrictive diets. No one-size-fits-all plans. Just real, personalized support that helps you feel more energized, more in tune with your body, and more you.

Initial Consultation & Health Evaluation

Your journey begins with a one-on-one, 1-hour consultation, where we dive deep into your unique health story. We’ll talk about everything—from your current symptoms, lifestyle habits, and food choices to your struggles with energy, sleep, and stress. During this session, we’ll also go through the Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire (NAQ), a tool that helps highlight where your body might be out of balance so we can better understand what needs support. This will give us insight into patterns and areas of stress that might be holding you back from feeling your best. By the end of our conversation, we’ll have a clear, personalized action plan ready to get you on the path toward healing.

After our consultation, I’ll put together a wellness plan that’s tailored to your body, your lifestyle, and your goals.
